A small mark that still reads
The R on the front is bouclé embroidery — the loops are left standing rather than pressed flat, so it reads as a single mark from across a room and as texture up close.

A good hat needs no explanation. Knowing where the work went is still worth something.
Most embroidery lays the thread down; bouclé stands it up, which is why one colour of thread can look like two depending on where the light is coming from. We chose not to shout the logo and put the effort into the finish instead. Fine-wale corduroy is the first thing you reach for when the season turns, and the metal buckle at the back catches one notch at a time.
The narrower the wale, the more softly it carries light, and the less the crown reads as bulk. All seven colours are desaturated on purpose, so the cap never argues with what you are wearing — they were picked imagining an autumn coat underneath.
